Melissa decided to add deanching.com to some pictures posted on Facebook. Quite honestly, I haven’t really updated this blog is so long. In the last year, Analise has been blessed to have suspended her chemo treatments, no longer takes any antibiotics, but continues her MRI schedule of every 90 days.

Analise turned 5 yrs old on March 8th, 2012 and Paisley turned 2 yrs old on March 27th, 2012. I turned 39yrs old, myself on March 22nd, 2012.

Analise is finishing up her 2nd year of pre-school and will be registered for kindergarten the upcoming 2012 school year. She’ll be going all-day, bringing her lunch and taking the bus to school!

Paisley is a handful. That’s the nicest way of putting it. She’s a cutie, but also leaves her mark everywhere she goes….leaving things undone, messed up, scattered, spilled, and etc. She’s 2years old, but somehow, she’s really really good at it.

Analise turns 4 and Paisley 1 year old

Last week, Analise turned 4 years old. She is doing well and we’ll be celebrating her birthday with Paisley next week. Paisley will be turning 1 year old next week. My birthday is next week as well, but I’ll be turning 38.

Analise had chemo last Friday and unfortunately came down with a fever, nearly hitting 103 degrees. While it came down, the doctors admitted her for the night. She kept her temp in normal range, but it didnt make sense to rush home in case it were to spike again. As you can imagine, she was pissed, crying and kept asking us why she had to be in the hospital. It had been over 18months since she had been hospitalized last.

Analise was discharged on Saturday afternoon and all is back to normal.

Please keep continuing prayers for Analise and all those who are fighting illness.

Please also keep those impacted by the tsunami in Japan in your prayers.

Rest in Peace, Uncle George Hollendoner

Our deepest condolescences go out to the Hollendoner family on the passing of George Hollendoner. While I’ve personally have only known the Hollendoner family since I dated my wife, Melissa and her siblings grew up with the George & Madonna’s sons. He was a kind person and loved his family & friends very much. May God Bless and watch over George and his family.

Yep, it’s December and I haven’t updated our blog in so long. For that I apologize. Life has been hectic as usual. Here’s a synopsis… Ana is in preschool, Sophia is in all-day kindergarten, and Paisley is sitting up, standing up in her playcrib, and babbling non-stop. For Halloween, Analise was a panda and princess for Halloween, Sophia was a princess, and Paisley was a pumpkin. Sophia has joined the Daisies, the entry level for Girl Scouts of America. Analise continues chemo every other week and her last MRI showed no growth nor shrinkage.

Thanksgiving has come and gone. Black Friday was a quick trip to Toys R Us on Thanksgiving night, so we didnt enjoy the doorbusting and insanity like years before….

Sophia turns 6yrs old on December 10th. Wow. That’s all I can say.

Analise’s first day of preschool today! She was a little upset with us leaving her, but of course, she survived!

Sop is in her 2nd full-week of school and lovin’ it… we’re lovin’ it too…She’s on a good sleeping schedule and Analise is following suit…

Baby Paisley is doing well…. sleeps well, eats well, and happy….

eye dr & chemo today

Yesterday we visited Dr Ticho, an opthamologist, in Orland Park. Ana’s eyes were dialated then checked. All looks good. We were referred to him by her oncologists to make sure that her chemo treatments haven’t impacted her vision. As well, there doesnt appear to be any pressure on her optical nerve. Not sure if he said optical nerve or nerves, but in either case, she looks ok.

Today, Ana’s in chemo and we got here extra early. Hopefully, she has a smooth day and we don’t have an all-day affair here…

Happy Birthday to my friend James Javier! Yesterday he turned 38yrs old. He’s battling a recovery from being hit by a car while jogging last September. Thank you for your continued prayers and positive thoughts for Analise, James, and all those who are sick and taking care of the sick.

rough but good week so far

On Sunday, Analise developed some type of limp from her left leg/hip. She didnt act or say she was in pain, but it was worrisome nevertheless. We took her to be seen by her oncologists on Monday. During their examination of her, we began to worry that this could be that the tumor was affecting her spine or that this was neurological…. Both her neurologist and Dr Salvi ruled out both, but ordered an xray, ultrasound and MRI to verify. We stayed for the xray and ultrasound. Thank GOD, it appears to be fluid buildup that can be from the steroids she is administered during her chemo treatments.

Monday was a rollercoaster. Tuesday would be a long day as well for Analise’s MRI. The worst part of MRI day is that Ana has to stop eating 8hrs before and no fluids within a couple hrs of the test. What also complicates her MRI is she has to be sedated, hence the no drinking/eating rules. Her MRI’s last between 4-5 hours.

After she woke, she wanted milk and Doritos. After she was pretty alert, we headed home. Results to come this week.

Friday, we have chemo, so she’s going to be pretty pissed off when we wake her up early again this week.

Happy Father’s Day….

I ran into a former manager of mine from my days as a social worker. I’d like to say hello to Christina Shirley. On my way out of Jewel, we bumped into each other. It’s been like 12-13yrs since I used to work for Aunt Martha’s. Wow. As I will always say, social workers are very much needed, but hardly in demand. It’s ashame, b/c there’s alot of kids and families who need help and guidance.

Analise has an MRI tomorrow, please say a prayer for her.

As well as for all those who are sick around the world.
