Wow, I’ve been incredibly poor about updating this blog.  However, it is because we have been extremely busy at home.  Yet, I really do not have an excuse, since I’ve been fortunate to work for a company that allows me to work from home.

So I will get back on track.  I also have fallen off that year long workout program, but not working out altogether.  I have gotten back into the routine of lifting and jogging, so it’s not as if I have totally fell off.  I vow to get back on the workout, b/c I did notice some good results.

Let’s see, since my last posting in April, we have spent most of our time fixing the landscaping of our home.  We had a very hardworking and talented crew of landscapers come through and renovate 360degrees of our yard.  Moved trees, planted new bushes, changed rock, and planted lots of new trees.  I’ll post pictures soon….

I also found a great deal on a pond kit on craigslist for $100.  Never used $350 pond kit from Sam’s Club that a family never got around to setting up.  So I took that home, pulled about 100+ bricks from around our pool to build a nice retaining wall in the shape of a horseshoe.  Leveling out brick is a real pain.  That took most of the work.  Afterwards, I dug out about 1ft, placed in one of the plastic liners, built up some dirt for the 2nd plastic liner (to act as a waterfall) and backfilled some potting soil.  Melissa helped finish the project will decorating with flowers and rock and etc…  We’ve got a filter and another powerhead moving the water around.  We have sacrificed about 20 goldfish in the process of cycling the water.  We have 4 living butterfly koi in the pond.  Of the initial pair of koi, I think a neighborhood animal may have feasted upon it.  There are also about another 10 or so feeder goldfish.  I’ll post a video and pix on our http://gallery.mac.com/rdeanching website soon.

What else did we do, I changed out a new toilet in Sophia and Analise’s bathroom.  Soon we’ll be redoing the floor, fixture, and vanity….  The old toilet was leaking (ewwwww), which I thought was a wax thing deal, but later found out it was some small cracks in the bottom of the bowl facing the floor.

Anyway, it’s Father’s Day and we have more projects to work on…..
