Yesterday, our water heater snoozed on us, so rather than reviving it again, my father came over and we replaced our 50gallon AO Smith Power Vent gas water heater with a 50gallon Richmond power vent gas water heater. Thankfully, my father has changed several of these before, but this was still a pain to do. We had to figure some gas piping and then solder some new copper lead/exit pipes. Jun dropped by for some pc help and helped out as well. Thank God all is done. Let there be hot water!
Today, we had lunch at Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Jun’s 32nd birthday with our family. Had the blackened mahi mahi and let’s just say that it didnt sit well with me. Enough said.
So I’m now cleaning up the mess left after doing the water heater swapout. I decided to bring the old water heater out my basement exit and up to my front yard for garbage day. Well, at least that is my hope that they’ll take it. I couldn’t find a dolly in the garage, so I used this flat bed cart thingy. Not the best alternative, but it gave me a little hamstring workout. Finally, I got it up to end of my driveway and all I could think of was, 1. please mr garbage dude, take this away tomorrow and 2. what do i do if mr garbage guy doesnt take this away. While I pondered this, I walked up the drive to get our garbage cans and etc. Not even, 5minutes had passed and I turned around and some scavengers in a pickup truck rolled up to my house to take my old water heater! It was perfect timing. What’s kind of funny too, was that there was another water heater already in the back of this pickup loaded with their other treasures found tonight…
Crazy times. Now I have to thaw out and get to cleaning up this basement.
