02.27.09….diff chemo & outpatient

Analise’s oncologists are changing her chemo treatment to something different.  It will be outpatient and administered every 2weeks.  This will have a less of a demand on her immunity.  The doctor doesnt expect that it will reduce the tumor, but this is what they want to try to put off radiation as far as possible.  We’ll see how it goes, keep praying please.

Have a good weekend and God Bless.

02.24.09. MRI results

Just talked to the dr and he said that there was no shrinkage of the tumor.  The radiologist said that were was negligible or minimal growth of the tumor.  At this time, Analise’s oncologists will be re-evaluating her treatment.

Thank you for your ongoing support and prayers.  Have a good day and God Bless.

02.23.09…MRI & Deang family

Today was Analise’s MRI of her head, neck, chest and spine.  We’ll get the results sometime this week, hopefully tomorrow.  This is supposed to be her weekend for chemo, round 5, but another surgery may be scheduled first.

Check back, I’ll make sure to provide an update as more information becomes available.

I do want to thank Gil and Amy Deang and their neighbors who contributed to Analise’s benefit fund.  That was very generous of you all and we really appreciate it.  THANK YOU.  Gil and I go way back.  Our parents were friends back when we lived in Country Club Hills and we used to see each other often at parties and etc.  As with most everyone’s kindness and support, we are truly rendered speechless.  Thank you very much for your support, friendship and love towards Analise.  Thank you for your emails and phone calls to check up on Analise and our family.  As I remember telling Gil the day he visited us in the hospital in November, I really wouldn’t know what to say or where to begin to show any support to someone in our shoes.  However, he listened and just kept an open offer to help our family and our girls.  Neither Melissa nor I every know what to say, but thank you.

Not a day doesn’t go by that I cannot wait for Analise to be cancer-free and we return to a normal daily life.  For now, we take our life, one day at a time and it is something we’ve accepted.

More information about where and how to purchase benefit tickets, more info about the raffles, and etc…  will be posted soon!

02.22.09….MRI tomorrow

Pardon my lack of blogging over the last few days.  Not much happened Thursday.  Friday we brought Sophia with us to Analise’s clinic visit, so she could see firsthand what happens.  I think Sophia went to Analise’s first clinic visit, but hasn’t since.  Analise’s counts were ok, except for her platelets, so she had a transfusion and napped through lunchtime.  After clinic, we visited my parents and ordered chinese for dinner.

Saturday, we had a leisurely day.  Mike and Jeff visited on their way to work on some of Analise’s benefit and fundraising.  Saturday night, my parents came over to watch the girls and we attended a benefit for our friend Lori and Holger’s son, Patrick.  It was nice to be out for a few hours together.  The benefit was held at Balmoral Park and they were running races.  So about 6 races in, I was skunked by 1 horse in every exacta or trifecta I played.  Otherwise, it was a fun evening and I won a wireless keyboard and mouse and gift certificate to Al’s Beef & Nancy’s Pizza.
Today, we went out to Woodfield with the girls.  As much as we can and especially these days, I treasure the chance for all 4 of us to be out and about together.  When the weather is nicer, I can’t wait to take them to the zoo, aquarium, and the children’s museum.  We’ve been members of the zoo and aquarium since Sophia was born and just last year, we signed up for the children’s museum on Navy Pier.  We wanted to go to the Rainforest Cafe, but the line was about 20 people long, so we tried the Cheesecake Factory.  That wait was about 30min, so we settled to eat at A&W.
Afterwards, we went by the Disney store and the girls picked out some new dolls.  Analise picked out her 100th Minnie Mouse doll while Sophia picked out a couple little Tinkerbell dolls.
We got home, I took a nap and then we watched the Oscars.  A quiet night….
Tomorrow we have an early clinic visit and then Analise’s MRI is scheduled for midmorning.
Have a good workweek and God Bless!

02.18.09…mri skipped due to nosebleed

Analise’s scheduled 4hr MRI was cancelled b/c she had a nosebleed this morning.  Although it stopped bleeding, they couldn’t risk her having her nose bleed again while in the middle of the MRI.  Her MRI will be rescheduled for next week sometime.

Good news, we were discharged today.  We have a script for meds to combat Analise’s ear infection and we’re back to clinic on Friday.

I’m getting online to do some work, have a nice afternoon and God Bless.
