Chemo today

Analise had chemo today. So far post chemo is typical, nausea and uneasiness. So far she is about to fall asleep but just miserable, since she cannot keep anything down. She’s finally resting with a bottle and watching nursery rhymes via on-demand.
Have a nice weekend and God bless!

Congrats Marc & Lane…..Sox Kids Day

This was a busy weekend, so busy, I haven’t gotten to blog it all.  My bad, I shouldn’t be behind, I’m able to blog on the fly now.

It was a crazy busy weekend.  First of all, Congratulations to Marc & Lane who were married on Saturday.  Melissa helped get Marc’s sisters and mother prepare.  The kids stayed with my parents while Melissa and I enjoyed a few hours to ourselves.

When we got home, I watched the Bears’ game I dvr’d that night.  Jay Cutler looked much better than the 1st pre-season game.  I almost don’t want to talk about it and jinx them, but overall, they are looking good.  I’m excited for this year’s season.   Also, the night before, Brett Favre, debut’d for the Vikings and went 1 for 4.  How much better can it get?

Thank you to Bill and his family for giving us tickets to attend the White Sox vs Baltimore Orioles.   It was a nice day out and we were able to enjoy the game at US Cellular field.  We mostly enjoyed the food!  Popcorn, hotdogs, cotton candy, ice cream (damn dippin dots!) and Connie’s Pizza.  Insane how you find a way to just eat and drink at the ballpark.

More importantly, it was Kids’ Day at the park, so prior to the game, kids could get autographs and after the game, they could run the bases.  We were originally not going to stay much longer after the game, but Sophia got caught up in the hype and hopped in line to run the bases.  There are pix at http://gallery.mac.com/rdeanching .

Anyway, it’s a going to be a warm day today, enjoy it while it lasts.  God Bless!

Sydney…bone marrow…

Today I dropped by the Meekma’s residence to bring over a care package for Sydney.  She and Analise were co-beneficiaries for the fundraising proceeds of the Frankfort Neighborhood Softball Tournament held on 8/2/09.  She just had her bone marrow surgery 2 days ago and will be monitored closely for the next few days and then hopefully home soon after.  Please include her and her family in your prayers.

I’m still recouping from my right calf strain/bruise/pull or whatever you call it.  It’s still a little sore and tender, so I’m keeping clear of any leg exercises for awhile.  I did do Back and Biceps yesterday and some Ab ripper x.  It felt good and I just hope I can be up to 100% within the next 2weeks.  I have learned from the last week of my ‘mini’ break from p90x, that diet is a very sensitive thing.  In fact, I really believe that I’m sensitive to diet sodas as well as other processing ingredients or foods.  In the last week, my weight has both dipped and gone up with the fluctuations in my diet.

Anyway, I wont bore you with that talk today.  Please keep Analise, Sydney & her family, and all those who are sick in your thoughts and prayers!  God Bless!

working from work….calf still healing

I’ve been working from work the last 2 days… and my calf is still healing.  I can walk, but I dont feel 100% comfortable putting any stress on it….

I’m going to workout today, do back and biceps & ab ripper x.  I need to pass on legs and cardio type stuff until I heal up.  I will try to do yoga, up until I feel pain in my calf….

My timeline of p90x has to adjust, so I wont be on the same day 90 as I originally started.  Hopefully, I can heal up and continue my workouts.

busy weekend… visit eileen and jun

Analise bounced back pretty well on Saturday and we made it out to this carnival in Plainfield.  It’s an annual event held for the clinic that Analise receives treatment.  We saw a few of the nurses, Dr. Salvi, and hung out with Trace, Carly, and Cal.  Sophia and Ana rode ponies, a train ride, and went into the petting zoo.  Sophia rode a camel!  Ironically, the camel walked around the cage of a 19yr old bengal tiger!  Very cool setup.  Sophia ran around with Carly, going on a few rides themselves.  Sop got Melissa to ride the ferris wheel and eventually convinced me to go on it as well.  Yes, I do not like carnival rides.  I’m not the target audience for Great America either.  Between the Kiddieland rollercoaster and the ferris wheel this summer, I’ve already exceeded my threshold for ‘amusement rides’.

Afterward, we headed to hangout with Jason and Michelle.  We played a few games of bags.  Jason and I played well, but somehow fell apart vs Archie and Jason’s neighbor.  We headed home after a few of Sophia’s meltdowns and since we needed to take the dogs out.

Yesterday, we spent the day at my sister’s house.  My father helped Jun work on some projects around the house and I help set up their mac.  On the way home, we stopped by the outlet mall in Aurora.  The kids and I had some pretzels while my parents and Aunt went shopping.

Back to work, got to run, have a nice day and God Bless!
