This has been a warm weather week for Chicago….hopefully it continues through Halloween and through about March 2010…. just kidding….through April 2010 would be nice….

Big thanks to Jenny, Erin and the Make-A-Wish foundation.  We just found out that Analise and our family will be going to Disneyworld!  Analise has had quite a year and we’re so excited for her and Sophia.  While Analise continues to endure treatments, Sophia has had to cope with it as well.  Neither has had a ‘normal’ year, so we feel so fortunate that they will get to enjoy themselves.

Bears are getting schooled.

Sorry, I haven’t posted updates lately.  Been kind of tied up with life, family, kids, and etc… on a good note, we spent last Sunday with Jonjon and the Cabela family for his 40th birthday…. just kidding, he’s like 37.

Then Tuesday, I worked half a day and took Melissa and the girls out to LaPorte, Indiana to go applepicking.  Checkout, www.garwoodorchard.com.  It was a good time.  I’ve got pic to post, but I’ll have to do that another day…  We got the idea of going there through Jon’s older bro, Elmer.  We met up with Elmer’s family and had dinner out in Michigan City.  It was nice to have dinner out with the kids on a relatively quiet weekday night.

Otherwise, nothing much going on except, when did gas jump up to $2.75 gallon?  What’s going on with that?

Analise had an uneventful post-chemo night, Thank God.  She slept in the family room on her ‘choo choo’ bed… and I slept beside her until about 3am and then moved onto the couch….

Analise and Sophia had dentist appointments today, so that was our first order of business…. they both did relatively good.  More so Sophia and Analise had to be held down like Hannibal Lecter…  Afterwards, we went to Lumes for brunch….

We’re hanging at my parents’ house and then probably heading to see some pumpkins….

Analise and Sophia are doing well.  They are quite the handful.  One will be behaved, while the other isn’t.  It’s comical….sometimes… All in all, both doing well.

Bears win!  Exciting game.  I worked on my ongoing deck painting project.  I hit Lowe’s Sunday morning and bought a Wagner Power Painter Lithium cordless sprayer and some extra paint stain.  I should have bought this thing when I first started, I was able to go over the spindles and benching really quick.  Granted, you waste a lot of paint with the wind and overspray, but overall, it saved time.

Monday…. I was able to get to the actual decking using the Wagner Deckmate tool.  You load about 1/2 gallon of paint/stain and then adjust the flow out the brush end.  It kind of looks like a broom.  With the paint stain that I used, it worked ok.  I think if I were using an actual stain, this would be much more effective.  I ended up using a roller for the 2nd coat I applied.

I have about 90% done and the remainder will require more finesse.  Since our rails and spindles are all mystic white and the decking is chocolate brown, I have to be careful not to splash onto each other.
