Big thanks to Dave Padilla for your words of encouragement and advice with the p90x. I was reaching for some motivation yesterday and a little today. I’m a little sore and tight from the extra hours of tennis the last few nights. While it’s not the bang-bang type of workout, Yoga X is on my radar for today.
Also, I have reached out to a member on facebook, Brian Cui, who recently completed p90x and is now a Beachbody Coach. He happens to be filipino, a father, a husband, and works fulltime. I think I share some of the diet hurdles of being filipino (white rice!) and the temptations of potentially damaging diet choices (fried ANYTHING, spam, eggrolls, etc). However, he’s done well for himself, by losing 25lbs and several inches off his waist. Here’s his contact info, in case you have questions:

My weight has bounced up and down, but overall, I do feel better. I started at 275lbs, dropped down to 267 and presently at 269lbs. It’s only been 3weeks of clean eating and solid workouts. I’m not really craving anything, staying on course, dietwise. I’ve had a can of diet pop here and there, but really staying a water drinker.
Being that my body feels a little tighter and my increased endurance on the tennis court is evident (not winded as easily). Also, since my knees aren’t sore from all the impact of jumping and running on the tennis court, I feel that there’s a definite improvement in my level of fitness. Also, with the last chest/back workout, I was able to knock out more pushups that when I started the program.
My overall goal would be to lose 50lbs. If I could lose that in 100% fat, I’d be very happy. I will have to work harder in the upcoming weeks going into phase 2. I’ve heard many people start to drop a lot of weight in phase 2, but we’ll see.
Thanks to everybody supporting me and starting their own p90x program. Big thanks to Dave and to Brian for sharing their 1st hand experience and support.
God Bless!

Hey Reggie, I wanted to thank you for adding my P90x experience to your blog. The biggest hurdles for me was cutting out rice and finding the time to workout 6-7 days a week.
You’re doing well with the program. Your weight will fluctuate especially when you hit the weights. Your weight should drop during the recovery weeks.
P90x is all about pushing through and staying motivated through the program. Alot of people get frustrated and quit because they are not patient to see results.
But for me, as you stated, I lost 25 pounds, 7 inches off my rice belly, and dropped 10% body fat. Here are my pictures http://bit.ly/P90_Progress. Now that I have finished P90x, I’ve moved onto Insanity with Shawn T, which is a Max Interval Training program. Hopefully I can loose another 25-30 pounds.
Thanks again Reggie, I am here to help – especially since we have the same struggles. But we have the same goal – to get fit and stay healthy. Take Care!
